POTTERY
Pottery is basically mud that is shaped and baked but it is also a metaphor for life. You need to be centered when you put the clay on the wheel, you have to breathe and focus but also play and enjoy the process. It helped Holly work through so many anxieties, just allowing herself to breathe through the process, enjoying the unknown rather than dreading it and embracing the imperfections.
Please recognize that most pottery artists are spending countless hours, tears, and failures creating their art, they need to appropriately price their wares, this is their main source of income, their livelihood. Holly is not using it as a source of income, she is using it as a way to pay for her therapy (which is more clay and glaze) and a way to enjoy life.
Holly sees herself as a beginner as she only started classes in 2019, but she had an amazing teacher… a local artist Kate Froese. If you want to see professional pottery, check her out on Facebook, Instagram, and Etsy at KateFroesePottery.
